Charlie Edholm is a guitarist, teacher and composer from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He holds a Master of Music degree in classical guitar performance from Lee University where he studied with K. Alan Shikoh. He previously studied classical guitar with Andrew Linton, jazz guitar with Shawn Perkinson, composition with John Wykoff, and has performed in master classes for Manuel Barrueco and Jason Vieaux. In February 2018 he released an original composition project entitled The Immanent Frame under the artist name Though I Wander. His composition, Widening Circles, was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2019 Leo Brouwer International Composition Competition for Solo Guitar, while his chamber work, Echo Dance, for guitar and clarinet won 2nd prize in the 2021 Jâca Emerging Composers Competition.

 

Having served on the adjunct faculties of Lee University and Southern Adventist University, he is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Music Research at the University of Ottawa, under the supervision of Lori Burns, where his research focuses on relationships between music and religion in popular culture. His essay on faith and digital media, Where the Goddess Dwells, was accepted to the 2021 Middle Ages in Modern Games Twitter conference sponsored by The Public Medievalist and the University of Winchester.
