fratres - a film for my family (release tbd)

In May 2021, I showed the first 10 minutes of a film project I’ve been working on at the Northshore Karass Film Series at the Chattanooga Theatre Center. As a musician, I fell into this backwards when my dad digitized all of our VHS family home videos from growing up and I offered to organize them as a gift. Combing through almost 50 hours of footage across decades of our lives, my initial idea of a highlight reel quickly developed into a feature-length experiment in documentary and art.

The film is structured around the experience of memory, eschewing a linear presentation in favor of cyclic repetitions of themes such as persons, places, or events in our lives, resulting in a sweeping meditation on life and love, childhood and change, the universal from the particular.

The Immanent Frame (2018)

An intimate, home-grown collection of compositions, The Immanent Frame is a nylon-guitar led pop/classical chamber project exploring themes of transformation and change.
